As the world turns…

Filed under: Uncategorized — lifewithlaughter @ 3:49 am

It has been a long long long long time since I have actually sat down to write. I am sure numerous world leaders, both of the free world and currently suppressed nations, have anxiously waited during this year and a half hiatus for my next major event.  The world can now continue to turn as I share my bit of news and wisdom.

It isn’t that I haven’t blogged per say, it’s just, most of it has been done in my mind.  Oh yes, I have  hundreds of remarkably clever posts that have never made it to print form.

Let me recap the last year and a half in a fourth grader writing level summary:

-We sold our house in Murphy.

-We moved to a rental house in Carrollton.

-We bought a new house back in the same town we moved from (Murphy).

-We managed to spend an obscene amount of money moving in and out of places.

-We learned you don’t pay movers by the hour.

That is the gist of our geographic propinquity.

Now, for work. I am still sorta with the same company. I still work at one of their locations, do not work at the very far location (goodbye commuter butt), and acquired one of their other locations as well. In total (with my private students) I am teaching 21 English classes a week.  I must say I have the most amazing students so even if my workload was doubled, I consider what I do a huge blessing and enjoyment.

Now the fun part…I am a Zumba teacher now!  I got certified last year and started working in June. I have LOVED every minute of it (except for the 2nd class I ever taught which was a complete disaster in which I may need therapy for one day in the future).  I teach at Gold’s Gym, 24 Hour Fitness, and Lifetime Fitness.  On Monday, I had a class of 87 Zumba maniacs.  Such energy I tell you! Tonight I was subbing for a friend of mine and her class had 4 people. You can’t hide your shimmy or your shake when you are one of four people. I have invested (ha…ya right…more like burned) a whole lot of money in a Zumba wardrobe and even more money on trainings and music, but you know what, I have enjoyed it so much! As longs as my body allows me and people keep showing up, I will keep teaching.

My schedule is insanely busy, but on a positive note, my kids were able to identify which person was their mother in a line-up.

We have experienced job changes, school changes, hair color changes (my oldest son is sporting a shade that I can only identify as magenta as his teammates decided they would all look ridiculous together at their first track meet).  We have had lots of ups and downs, but as always, we are embracing the good moments and throwing soda cans at the bad ones.

So, no more blog procrastination (for fear of this and future blog posts sounding like an annual Christmas letter).  I will be better about purging my thoughts onto this public forum more often.

Adieu.

  1. I was impressed with usage of the word “propinquity.” I had to look that one up in the dictionary.

    • Hey girl!
Good for you for joining the gym. I teach at the Murphy location. However, I have a couple of friends that teach over in Richardson and they are fantastic! You can’t go wrong! Miss you!
